Welcome to the HUSTL blog, a place in which we aim to educate, inform, inspire and motivate. We share articles on topics ranging from fitness, nutrition, style, mental wellbeing & more. We collaborate with experts and guest writers to bring you a wealth of knowledge within a diverse range of industries. We are known for our vulnerability & authenticity, so we hope you enjoy this special space of ours.
On Sunday 12th of September, our Hustl. Gold Coast family dedicated the morning to the Move For Lex foundation at our studio in Mermaid Beach. We had an amazing turn out, members could bring friends along, there were pink cupcakes, polaroid films, words of well wishes & of course we all got a sweat in with angel trainer, Em. All I can say is I am blown away with the generosity of this little family of ours, you girls have the biggest hearts.Â
Â
There was plenty to be grateful for on Sunday morning, and the biggest takeaway we had was to not take life for granted & that movement is a blessing. Life is precious and we should try to remember this, even in the chaos of it all. Sending all of our love & light to Lex and her family during this time â we love you angel.

I am not normal, but neither is our coffee addicted society. I used to wonder for years how people have so much energy, how they are constantly up to do everything and never tired. I stopped wondering, because I realised most of the people I was comparing myself to were males â Iâm the last person to ever question the female strength, however we are built different and our hormones can really take a toll on our energy. I also realised the people I was comparing to myself, fuelled themselves daily with endless cups of a little, addictive black substance. I could not allow myself to become dependant.Â
Â
I canât drink coffee, I turn into a rat on acid. Seriously. It's not a health kick, and it's not a detox - I have never opted for drinking coffee. I need to rest myself the natural way and acknowledge my over-active adrenal glands and my extremely high cortisol levels, I need to sit with myself and feel my anxiety because for some reason that emotion needs to be felt. When I do that, wh...

I still remember naively sitting there at my 36-week appointment. The midwife asked me how nervous I was to give birth out of 10, I said 1 just to give her a number. I had this unrealistic expectation of birth. That I was a woman, and it is meant to just come naturally to me, and I am going to be this goddess who does a full âKourtney Kardashianâ and pulls their baby out their ginny themselves without breaking a sweat. I was 24, had been athletic all my life and had formed my opinion of birth from the glorified accounts I followed on Instagram.
WHAT A GOOD FUCKING JOKE!
So let me bring you to where shit started to turn south. I am 20 something hours into labour. I got an epidural after consistently telling my husband to cut my foot off. Life was great. I am eating all the snacks and cracking banter with the midwife (cause something has to break the awkwardness of a stranger peering into your womanhood every 5 minutes). Now, my midwife discovers Coda is posterior. I ...
We all know that how the saying goes, âwin the morning, you win the day.â Sometimes, your body just says no â and thatâs okay. If itâs more of a resistance youâre feeling due to lack of motivation rather than exhaustion, you may just need more structure to kickstart your daily routine. I have listed down 5 things I find myself doing in the mornings. I know what youâre thinking, âyou do all of these things before breakfast?â â my answer, GOD no. Trust me, I am the first person to tell you to listen to your body and rest when you can â but I also thrive off an accomplished morning, it sets the tone for the day. So, if youâre needing some ideas on how to spend your morning productively, read on angel.Â

Plan ahead.
Book yourself into that early morning class, lay out your activewear on your bedroom floor and place your phone a little further away than your head so itâs not easy to hit the snooze. I find that nothing holds me more accountable in the morning than pre-planning my wor...
When spa days, fitness studios and cafes are off the menu it can be difficult to find ways to relax. Weâve all become a little too familiar with the word lockdown at some point â itâs a frustrating time and can seriously impact our mental health. In light of the latest lockdown here in Australia and other parts of the world, I have listed five self-care practices you can do at home (tried and tested). Because I love you and if this can help bring at least one person out of lockdown blues I will be happy.Â

Youâve been asked a million times, but we love to hear the response time and time again. The age old question that it all comes back to â why did you start HUSTL?
To be honest itâs not really the story everyone imagines it would be. It was never one of my dreams to have my own fitness studio, to cut the red ribbon & put up a big sign. I was more excited to start HUSTL. because I saw this massive hole in the market that to me seemed so obvious. At the studios I worked at prior to HUSTL. I always got in trouble for playing the music too loud, singing into the microphone, turning the lights off or making the classes way too intense. My classes where always full and so I thought fuck it - if this place doesnât exist, then Iâm just going to have to create it.Â
Hard work, discipline and sacrifices play a large part of where you are today. But word is that you practice manifestation and truly believe in the powers of it. Have you always manifested, when did you start and what does a basic m...
Contagiously confident and unapologetically herself are two phrases we use to define our studio trainer and apple of our eye, Amy Eagle. Studio members know her as the queen of the RânâB vibes that she brings to the mat, and you can basically feel her sassy, sexy charm oozing through her Instagram feed where you will find her sultry dance routines. The last thing you would ever expect is Amyâs conservative upbringing in a strict, Mormon household. Since parting ways with religion, our Amy has experienced the powers of movement for self expression â particularly sultry, heels dancing. Self-expression doesnât come easy, and itâs not a one size fits all route to get there. We do truly believe reading a story like Amyâs will restore your faith in backing yourself through those uncomfortable waves that come with self-love.  Â

I hope when you read my words,Â
that you donât make the assumption I have all my shit together.
I hope you know that the only reason I can talk about my horrible past is because my present isn't perfect either.Â
Nothing in my life is perfect,Â
I could pretend it was in a sort of soothing fictional way but I feel like the fantasy would lead to a reality of disappointment.Â
These pages,
for now are the darkest part of my story,
the parts I don't like talking about but feel I need to.
I hit it really hard, with absolutely no intention of slowing down.Â
I had nothing left. I had no fight to give.
I had absolutely nothing.
I hit rock bottom and I didnât fucking care.
I was angry at the world, I was angry at myself.
I sat there in that low torturous frequency for 5 months.
In a sick way I enjoyed it.Â
I stopped caring how many hours I would sleep a day, what thoughts controlled my mind or the pain my heart created in my chest.
I didnât care anymore.
It was a pity party and I was the only one...
you know,
your society, my society, our society. Â
why on a good day you can all of a sudden feel depressed, frustrated, anxious, sad or angry.
its simple,
these emotions surface because you suppress.
they want to be felt, they donât know your having a great time, they donât know your entirely relaxed,
they see an opportunity so they attempt to make themselves present,
they donât know your overall plan is to suppress, so they will keep trying to surface.
so stop,
just sit down and feel.
they are called feelings because they need to be felt.
breath into whatever tries to keep coming up.
for 2 years my biggest emotion was anxiety,
i was tired of feeling that way, tired of being scared for no apparent reason, so i avoided it.
We all have those days, when you find yourself in a bit of funk. Getting stuck in a bad mood can be easy, and sometimes we don't always have a bath tub close by for us to zen out in. So, to avoid slaughtering the next person who looks at you funny we have put together a list of 10 quick fixes to get you back to your happy place.Â
And crank it up. Music stimulates blood flow, triggers happy memories and has been linked to reducing the signs of depression. I recommend tuning to the HUSTL. spotify and listening to a PACE playlist from top to bottom â warning, you will feel like a boss ass b*tch. If calming music is your thing, you do you.
Trust us when we say nothing bad will ever come of stepping away from the screen and getting some fresh air. Hello serotonin!
